David Hoang on Discipline, Courage, and Why Saying "No" Isn't a Negative Thing
/

David Hoang is a product design professional with more than a decade’s experience. He focuses on mobile, wearables and emerging technology. He’s currently the Product Design Lead at One Medical Group and Studio Manager at The Rock Tumbler Collective.

He was previously an early member of ExactTarget’s global accounts team, founder of a mobile product agency, Lead UX Designer at HTC and Director of Mobile Design at Black Pixel. He has worked with Expedia, Inspirato, Nike, Nordstrom, Starbucks, Whole Foods and others.

In this episode, which is honestly one of my favorites to date, David and I talk about growth, discomfort, the power of small moments of courage, and the importance of saying “no” (and why “no” doesn’t need to be a negative word!) We talk about flakiness vs giving yourself permission to quit, and David shares his three guiding principles. All in all, this conversation is the epitome of Real Talk Radio - just two people, sharing stories, discussing the contrasts and messiness of life, and opening up about the realities of trying, succeeding, and sometimes failing to be the best people they can be. I hope you enjoy it!
