Liz Goodchild on Living Your Values and Overcoming Adversity

“I knew that would be the last time I saw my mum, and I didn’t really say goodbye to her. And to this day I really wish I had hugged her and told her how much I loved her. That moment affected me for a long time, and if I could go back and change it, I would.” – Liz Goodchild

Liz Goodchild is a life coach who helps people who feel stuck to feel less stuck, make decisions that feel good and do things they think they can’t.

In this conversation, Liz opens up to us about a huge range of topics - everything from her fears about having just moved to a country where she doesn’t speak the language to how she went from a non-runner to an ultra-marathoner who just spent the past year not running at all due to injury. She shares details about starting her own business, the methodology she uses to help her clients identify and live their values, about balancing her business with being a new mom, about her most important self-care practice, and the deeply personal story about how she handles the regrets associated with her mother’s suicide. Through it all, Liz is raw and honest, and I hope you get as much comfort and inspiration from the conversation as I did.

More About Liz

An ultra-marathon runner, vegan and new mama, Liz recently left London city life for rural Germany - a decision that she describes as extremely incredible and extremely terrifying (mostly because she can barely speak German and can’t seem to get the hang of driving on the other side of the road.) Always one for challenging herself and diving in at the deep-end, she writes with fervent honesty over on her Facebook page, and her writing has also been featured in Tiny Buddha, The Metro Newspaper and Women’s Running Magazine.
