Paul Armstrong (my husband!) writes software at Twitter, races bikes, is obsessed with cats, and is constantly working to perfect his vegan donut recipe. He's also the very best person I know, but hey, I'm biased 🙂
In this episode, Paul and I share the origin story of our relationship, which spans almost five years and includes plenty of love, sex, heartbreak, and personal growth. We talk about the people we were when we first met back in 2009, how we each grew in the four years we spent apart, and how we were able to come back together.
We talk about some of the challenges we've faced, why we think we're well suited as partners, how we aim to continue growing individually without out-growing each other, and more.
We also talk about sobriety, something that's important to both of us, and Paul shares honest stories from all the times he tried to quit drinking and couldn't, before the final attempt the finally stuck.
He also talks about his career evolution - including why he loves working a more traditional job and has no desire to be self-employed.
And, lastly, we answer some listener questions, like about how he felt when I was on my month-long solo hike this summer, and more.
It was such a treat to record with my husband, and I hope you enjoy getting to know him, and us!

I absolutely loved this podcast, so glad I stumbled upon it. Your story made me laugh and it made me cry. I can relate to Paul in his story about a back and forth battle with alcohol abuse. Love hearing real stories from down to earth people
